The Ellensburg valley, where we are located, is known for it's heavy winds. While this aids in the drying process, it can also be a problem during the baling process. During heavy winds we bale in what we like to call the "baler choreography". This quite often helps keep the rows from blowing away before they can be baled.
This view overlooks a small portion of the 1000 acres that we farm.
Here's our well known, trademarked, "red, white and blue" hay bale.
Fresh cut oat hay. This is one of our rotation crops. We typically have a buyer before it's even baled, but if you're interested in this type of hay, it can't hurt to ask. That's our home in the background, surrounded by what I like to call "our little slice of heaven on earth".
(Oat hay available 2022 crop)
The sun is setting and the bale wagons will be working long after dark to get these bales up before the dew sets in.
The following pictures show a couple of our hay barns and our Anderson Hay Elevators being used to load trailers for delivery. Note: We no longer load trailers this way, we push full blocks into the trailers with a squeeze, saving a lot of time.
